“iMuscle acts as a great workout companion while you're at the gym, giving you detailed information about each workout, and letting you set up a regimen to focus on the areas of your body you want to improve. Anyone who goes to the gym and wants to learn more about specific types of workouts should check out this app.” - Cnet Review
iMuscle is a sophisticated workout aid that can be taken anywhere. Use it to identify a body part or individual muscle by zooming into a 3D human body with the musculature exposed. Then access all the exercises associated with the development / rehabilitation of that muscle. With the iMuscle you can also create and customise workouts and view your progress. In addition to the individual user this application was designed with a multi-user capability, making it also ideal for fitness instructors. Also all of the anatomical modeling, labeling and descriptions are medically correct making this an ideal app for physiotherapists.

To work on a particular body area users can rotate the body and zoom into a particular area on the 3-Dimensional Muscle Man. Then choose a muscle to work on - a thumbnail list of all the exercises associated with that muscle will be shown. Users can then press on one of these thumbnail exercises and you will be shown an animated 3-Dimensional model performing that exercise. You can also search for a particular muscle or exercise by selecting the appropriate tab in the Index function.
On selecting the muscle you want to work on you can view a vast number of exercises and stretches for that muscle. Each exercise comprises of an animation of the exercise being performed, instructions on how to prepare and execute the exercise plus images depicting the various primary and secondary muscles being used (as well as a list of the deep muscles being used). Users have the added option to view the animation full screen and add it to the workout they desire. The animations are also shown during the workout with the added options of pausing and restarting the animation.

Users can create and customize multiple workouts - for example you could have a list of exercises targeting the shoulders & chest in an 'upper body workout' and another workout comprising of stretches to aid an injury. These workouts can then be customized - you can remove exercises you no longer want to be part of your workout, edit how many times exercises are performed and change at what point in your workout an exercise is performed. You can also add multiple users and send workouts (an invaluable function for all fitness instructors!). The app also allows users to view their progress in strength and endurance.
